Less Corn, More Bread

Bisquick makes bitter cornmeal taste better.


Cornbread

Mix:
3 c Bisquick
1/3 c cornmeal
1 c sugar
1 t. baking powder

Heat until warm:
1 c. margarine or butter and
1 1/2 c. milk
Add to Bisquick mixture--don't stir yet

Beat 3 eggs and add to above
Stir 20 times
Pour into greased 9x13 pan and bake 350 for 30-35 mins.

Homemade Bisquick Mix

4 c. flour
2 T. baking powder
1 1/2 t. salt
1 c. shortening

Combine flour, baking powder and salt in a large bowl. Add shortening and mix until blended. Use and electric mixer or your hands to do this.
