Old Beans



We aren't talking beans you can possibly cook soft. Unless you use a pressure cooker for 2 hours. These are as old as dirt. But still good! If you having Cuban sandwiches, you have to have Cuban black beans and rice with them. This is from my Cuban friend.


Carmen's Cuban Black Beans and Rice

2 cans black beans
1 can French onion soup
1 can pureed black beans
1/4 c. olive oil
2 T sugar
green pepper
1 can water

Combine all. Bring to boil. Cover and reduce heat. Simmer covered 45 min.- 1 hr. Stir occasionally. Serve over/with rice.
